Calculator Use

Graphical, scientificand 4-function calculators are accepted or available for certain practices (r) tests. Unless it is specifically stated that a calculator is allowed for a specific test however, calculators cannot be used.

Test takers aren't permitted to use calculators with others.

Tests That Do Not Permit Use of a Calculator

In general, unless it is specifically stated that a particular kind of calculator is allowed or required for a specific test, calculators may not be used on some test. test.

Tests That Permit the Use of a Calculator

You can use a four-function or scientific calculator for this Middle School: Content Knowledge (5146) test, though there is no requirement to use it. Bring your own calculator to the test center. It is not allowed in the test center. A graphing calculator will not be allowed during this test.

Types of CalculatorsThat Are Not Permitted

The following are not permitted for Praxis Praxis

  • Portable/handheld computers or laptops
  • Electronic pads for writing
  • Models with pen-input/stylus/touch-screen capability
  • Calculators are available on all phones watches, electronic devices
  • Models featuring QWERTY along with other alphabetic keys in software or hardware
  • Models printed with printers
  • Models that produce noise or "talk"
  • Designs that will require an outlet
  • Models that have access to the internet, as well as have Wireless or Bluetooth (r) capability.
  • Models with cameras and scanner capability, or digital audio/video player recording/player capabilities

In addition, use of hardware peripherals is prohibited.

Calculators provided by test takers are not permitted for Praxis test with calculators that are on-screen.
