Calculators cannot be found in the test center, and you're not able to lend a calculator.
Quick Facts
- Only the calculators mentioned on this page are accepted for the Math Test--Calculator section of the test.
- It is not permitted to utilize the calculator during tests like the Reading, Writing and Language, or Math Test--No Calculator sections. You are required to remove the calculator away during these sections that comprise the assessment.
- You'll be disqualified and your score canceled in the event that you use your calculator to provide information during the exam, or to remove test questions or the answers from the testing room.
Calculator Smarts
- Bring your personal calculator. It's not possible to share one.
- Don't bring a brand-new calculator. Bring one you're comfortable with. Make sure you practice for the test using the same calculator you'll need on the day of your test.
- The Math Test includes some questions in which it's best not to make use of a calculator, even though you're allowed to.
- It might be helpful to complete scratch work on the test book. You can write down your thoughts applying your calculator.
- Check that your calculator is in condition and the batteries are not expired. The test facility will not provide extra calculators or batteries. If your calculator is damaged during the test and you have no backup then you'll need to take the test without it.

Calculators are only permitted to take the Subject Tests in Mathematics. Read the guidelines and rules.
Acceptable Calculators
If you have one of these calculator with characters that are one inch or higher or if the calculator has a raised display that may be visible other test-takers, you will be assigned a seat at the discretion from the testing coordinator.
Only handheld, battery-operated equipment can be used to test. The use of power cords is not allowed.
Calculators that are permitted for testing include:
- The majority of graphing machines (see chart)
- All scientific calculators
- The four-function function calculator, in all its forms (not recommended)

Unacceptable Calculators
It is not permitted to make use of the following items as a calculator:
- Laptops or other computers mobile phones, tablets smartwatches or wearable technology
- Models with the ability to connect to Internet can be wirelessly connected, Bluetooth mobile, audio/video recording and playing camera, or other features that are similar to smartphones.
- Models that include a computer-style (QWERTY) keypad pen input, pen, or stylus
- Models that have electric outlets, produce noise or use a paper tape
- Additionally, the use of hardware peripherals such styluss with an approved calculator is not allowed. Certain models with touchscreen capability are not permitted (e.g., Casio ClassPad).
